a bottle, appeared perfectly normal. Eight months later while playing hockey, she collapsed on the field with the same pain in her RIGHT SIDE. She was diagnosed with a severe bowel infection, which required antibiotics and a couple of weeks to get over. Immediately after the bowel infection she started to have irregular bleeding, particularly when she did anything physical.
We went back to the doctor and he got the bleeding sort of under control, but the pain persisted on the right side. A series of ultra scans indicated that she had a cyst on the right ovary and after two months of on/off bleeding and pain, we decided to have the cyst removed. Two days before the operation she started with what at first appeared to be the flu. Back to doctor, more antibiotics. The next morning she had a terrible headache, sore eyes and she couldn’t tolerate light (photophobia). I immediately recognized the signs as encephalitis as she and her brother had encephalitis 9 years previously. She was hospitalized and got steadily worse. A specialist consulted with a professor of virology at Witwatersgard University and it was decided to do a lumbar punch. After about 18 hours the pressure was relieved and she started to improve. It took about 2 months of very quiet living to get over this and it appeared that she was now out of the woods. Meanwhile, as she had hardly been to school for some time, her schoolwork started to pressure her and being in standard 9 it was an important year. Due to headaches and eye problems she couldn’t read or write for any length of time.

Then, for no apparent reason, her neck and back stiffened up and she was in lots of pain. Painkillers were dished out to get her through the weekend. By Monday the neck was easier but the knee and ankle were locked. Back to the doctor for more tests, muscle relaxants and pain killers. Rheumatoid arthritis and Rheumatic fever were suspected but ruled out. The seizing changed place daily, from shoulder to foot, to wrist, to hip, to elbow, to hand, even at times to her jaw. Whatever joint was used would complain with tremendous pain and just stop functioning. At times they swelled and other times they bruised.

By now we had had hundreds of tests done and all were negative. Nothing was consistent except the pain and discomfort. Then the orthopedic surgeon did more tests and it was back to the hospital for a scope on the knees to remove tissue and fluid and scrape the bone. Two weeks on crutches and still there was nothing to indicate the cause. If it was a virus, it should have started to burn out by now, we were told. The large doses of aspirin were starting to affect her stomach lining so more medication to correct that. I contacted a homeopath/reflexologist and Joy went onto a strict diet, hundreds of little pills, and weekly treatments. It was very painful and slow with only slight improvement. Joy was not able to lead a normal life as a teenager and family life had to revolve around her limited capabilities and doctor appointments. With limited time at school she was falling behind.

Then came the helpful suggestions that it was psychosomatic, school related, looking for attention, and mother and daughter becoming neurotic. These were all thrown at us and had to be coped with. The next step was a muscle specialist. Tests revealed severe anemia and hepatitis but no answer to the pain and locked joints. It was costing from R100 to R150 (Rand South African Dollar) a month for medication and hundreds of Rands for doctors’ and lab fees. Now 15 months after the bowel infection, Joy found most activities impossible, not a bright healthy future for a 17-year-old.
Then miracle of miracles, we were asked to listen to Brian’s talk and went along with an open mind. Came home, prayed about it and made an appointment for a body balance. Boy, did Brian have to work to get Joy’s body balanced! He found it was the ileocecal valve that had malfunctioned, letting all the toxins and poisons go straight into the body and be stored in the muscles, which screamed in pain when asked to work. She had the symptoms of adrenal syndrome and with all the medications, she had no immune system left. After the balance Joy walked out without even a limp. By following Brian’s instruction to ionize and rub her valve, she started building up her strength and confidence. She has never once since the balance had sore, stiff or locking muscles. Since that day 5 weeks ago she has not had any medication. Her zest for life is back and the tension and stress our family has carried is fading. It is good to be alive again and ionizing and rubbing our valves has become as much a part of our lives as breathing. Need I say that this mother has become one of the greatest advocates of Zero Point Balancing ever.

Commentary:

This was a classic case of ileocecal valve incompetence, from the very beginning with the pain in her right side. It was the U-stress of life that was causing the incompetence. She was having to live up to mum and dad’s expectations and always FEARFUL of failure. Then there was religious bigotry piled on top of that.
My dad said to me, “My son, you really should qualify with your head or your hands, get a ticket in something, and you can go anywhere in the world and get a job.” I made that choice and I qualified as a jeweler. Many of the youngsters today are expected to attend a college or university to study to be a doctor or a lawyer, etc., so that financial success is assured. They are given no chance of self-determination. So they go to college, get into the drug scene and almost destroy themselves. If they don’t graduate, then they have self-deprivation and their parents’ disapproval with which they must contend.

When I interview a client, I ask them about their educational history because, although they may have been fortunate enough to have their educational opportunities paid for by their parents, often they experienced “lack of self-determination” relative to the course of study. Or, finding it impossible to complete the education chosen for them, they experience “self-deprivation.” These are then frequencies which continue to affect their lives. Fortunate is the child whose divinity is recognized by the parents. Fortunate is the child whose parents provide opportunities for writing, painting, dancing, singing, gardening, etc., as well as academic subject matter, so that the child’s natural talents are recognized, honored and encouraged. Fortunate is the child who is allowed choice in their individual expression of creativity and fulfillment rather than being a vehicle through which the parents have a second chance of living their lives. Fortunate is the child who is loved, cherished, encouraged and allowed rather than owned by the parents.
